viridian-gate-coverHey folks, this is James Hunter, author of the Yancy Lazarus series. I’ve got a couple of exciting things to share on the book-writing front. First, Lazarus episode five is currently in the works—there’s certainly a lot yet to be done, but it’s coming along. No title yet, but this one should be a wild ride: lots of battles, plenty of demons, a good dose of Hell, and some sweet, sweet revenge. In other pen-monkey news, I’m also releasing the first book in a new series today! Viridian Gate Online (V.G.O.) is the pilot episode of a new high-fantasy (litRPG) series.

In 2042, the world finds itself on the verge of mass annihilation, due to an incoming extinction-level asteroid. Our hero, Jack Mitchel—a thirty-two-year-old EMT living in a tiny studio apartment—takes a radical leap of faith in order to save his life: he uploads his mind into the brand-new, ultra-immersive, virtual reality game, Viridian Gate Online. Taking that leap of faith, though, means permanently trapping his mind in the fantasy game world, killing his body in the process.

Worse, one in six die during the transition, and even if Jack beats the odds, he’ll have to navigate a fantastical world that’s home to vicious monsters, domineering AIs, and cutthroat players. If Jack can’t game the system, he’s going to be trading in a quick death for a long, brutal one …

If you dig high-fantasy, RPGs, or just good ol fashion monster mayhem with lots of action and explosions, this might be up your alley. You can get it here: Viridian Gate Online
